Communications Operator Your Job Duties:
You will work in the Communications Operations / dispatching center for the California State Parks Rec (State Park System) where you will:
Monitor emergency communications systems Answer calls for service from the public or other agencies and talk through the situation, obtain critical information and determine the level of dispatching needed Communicate with Park law enforcement about the matter and dispatch field units on site Log incidents Provide consistency, direction and knowledge to the public and law enforcement Communications Operator Required:
Prior experience in inbound call center (minimum 2 years) or dispatching (minimum 1 year) Ability to maintain composure under stress to navigate emergency situations Capture and type information Work quickly and with urgency Ability to pass a drug test and background check prior to hire Communications Operator You Might Have:
Former Military Veteran with radio equipment experience or Air Traffic Controller experience (preference in the hiring process will be given to Veterans) Upon hire, you will be assigned a mutually agreeable work schedule, which may include a weekend shift or night shift, at your choosing.
