Responsibilities:
Must be able to demonstrate essential functions of sterilization which include:
put away clean instruments, bag and start new cycle, make sure open bay units a tray with basic kits on them and chairs with head covers, empty treatment trays, place instruments in ultra-sonic, clean unit surface area and patient chairs, clean any areas that appear dirty:
brushing station; open bay counter tops any floor spills and pieces of paper etc.
, print instruction forms, prep set up trays, clear and create new bracket cards, make impression bags, sandblast brackets if needed, all other duties as assigned.
This position holds a unique opportunity to learn orthodontic assisting skills for someone who is interested in orthodontic assisting.
Orthodontic assistant duties include:
Review patients' medical history and records, prepare patients for treatment, assist with and perform various orthodontic procedures under direction of orthodontist including:
o Orthodontic records (photos, impressions, radiographs, bite registration) o Placement and removal of separators o Banding and bonding o Band-fitting o Changing archwires or ties o Delivery of retainers and other removable appliances o Adjustment of removable appliances ? Chart and record treatment information in chart ? Clean and stock chairs in bay area ? Complete lab work such as pouring and trimming models, unpacking and following lab/Invisalign cases ? Anticipate doctor's needs during all procedures ? Comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and privacy policies at all times ? Assist with the implementation of practice marketing strategies such as asking for referrals/testimonials Desired Skills:
Minimum high school graduate Orthodontic assisting/dental assisting experience Radiology certified CORE COMPETENCIES Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with adults and children of all ages Ability to maintain outgoing, friendly attitude with patients, parents, and staff even under pressure Ability to work with interruptions and to manage multiple priorities Ability to speak, understand, and write fluent English Ability to complete clinical procedures within required time frames Ability to accept and follow instructions Self-motivated and dedicated to continuous learning WORKING CONDITIONS Clinical and office environment Variable degrees of mental and physical stress Variable amounts of standing, sitting and walking Exposure to blood, body fluids and contaminates is possible We are looking for immediate considerations so if this sounds like the opportunity you've been waiting for, please reply to this ad directly with your resume (include references!) and desired salary requirements.
