WECA is a nonprofit organization serving merit shop electrical contractors, their employees and the industry suppliers that support them.
In California, WECA offers federal and state-approved Commercial, Residential, and Low Voltage (Voice Data Video and Fire Life Safety) Electrical Apprenticeship programs, a state-approved Electrician Trainee program, certification exam preparation classes, and state-approved continuing education classes for journeyperson electricians and low voltage technicians.
In Arizona, WECA offers a federal and state-approved Commercial Electrical Apprenticeship program and continuing education classes for journeyperson electricians.
WECA additionally shares its expertise by producing curriculum products and publications for the industry.

Summary:
The Apprenticeship Registrar is responsible for all administrative processes associated with the Apprenticeship Program, including program administration, customer service, and data entry.
The Apprenticeship Registrar contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices related to the Apprenticeship Program.
The Apprenticeship Registrar is expected to know, follow and ensure adherence to all internal program rules, regulations, policies and procedures as well as all State and Federal Department of Labor regulations relating to Apprenticeship.
Under general supervision, creates and maintains internal program rules, regulations, policies and procedures directly related to Apprenticeship.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Essential Functions:
Program Oversite and Administration:
1.
Understands WECA Apprenticeship Rules & Regulations as well as all State and Federal Standards and regulations relating to the apprenticeship programs.
2.
Understands and adheres to regulatory requirements for all programs.
3.
Ensures program Rules and Regulations are adhered to by all students and suggests updates as needed.
4.
Responsible for continual improvement of processes and policy updates/changes (directly related to Apprenticeship Rules & Regulations and/or Apprenticeship Standards) to the Assistant Apprenticeship Director for approval.
5.
Reports to Assistant Apprenticeship Director on student issues, program updates relative to program stats, upcoming activities, recommend new policies and/or changes.
6.
Participates in company functions and meetings, fosters friendly, professional relationships with customers.
Program Administration and Customer Service:
1.
Ensures that all customer requests and/or inquiries are acted upon and followed through to resolution.
2.
Problem solves and researches resolutions to Apprentice disputes as relates to their program.
3.
Produces reports, as required, to analyze areas of improvement.
4.
Works with the Assistant Director of Apprenticeship to maintain and update the Apprentice Student Handbook.
5.
Performs and oversees a variety of complex computer support functions in the student information systems (WECA Base).
6.
Responsible for administration of the Apprentice Disciplinary processes and proactively solving Apprentice discipline issues.
7.
Responsible for administration of Apprentice Class Change processes.
8.
Responsible for administration of all Apprentice terminations (Resignation / Cancellation / Graduation) and associated tasks.
9.
Works with other departments to administer the Apprentice Work Process Review procedure.

Processes Apprentice class enrollments and daily and final grades.
12.
Generates and sends scheduled student notifications (class day reminders, OSHA10 reminders, etc.
).
13.
Creates and updates processes, and student forms as needed.
14.
Runs various data check reports and completes any necessary functions to assure that data is correct.
15.
Responsible for the generation, mailing and tracking of Apprentice contact letters.
16.
Educates Apprentices on program rules and regulations, including any updates.
17.
Participates in any assigned Training.
