We are seeking a talented and growth minded Project Geotechnical Engineer / Geologist to be based in our Rancho Cordova (Sacramento) CA office. The ideal candidate must have previous experience working on one or more of the following types of disciplines:
geotechnical engineering, geology, construction, or civil engineering. The ideal candidate will have:
Project management and leadership experience Geotechnical or environmental field investigation experience including logging borings, daily field reports and coordinating field activity Construction experience including field testing and sampling, reading plans and specs and the ability to identify and communication potential issues Experience with calculations and analysis to include familiarity with quality control processes Geotechnical laboratory experience including basic understanding of geotechnical testing (triaxial, consolidation, hydraulic conductivity, direct shear. Also a familiarity with quality control processes. Experience with preparation of work plans, cost estimates, statements of qualifications, and engineering reports Tasks will include:
Leading projects and teams Geotechnical or environmental field investigation including logging borings, daily field reports and coordinating field activity Construction Preparing health and safety plans and permits for drilling Coordinating field work with multiple subcontractors Preparing work plans, cost estimates, and statements of qualifications, for geotechnical projects Preparation of data tables and analysis Preparation of geotechnical reports, memorandums, and letters Position Requirements:
This position will be a majority of field work and the individual hired into this role must be capable of taking direction and completing work with basic supervision. We are seeking a self-starter with a strong desire to learn and be a part of a top-notch team. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication and writing skills and technical background in engineering/geologic projects. Additional criteria include:

years field work experience related to civil/geotechnical engineering or geology, soil logging and testing, cutoff wall construction design and observation, levee inspection, foundation design, geotechnical type analysis, technical report preparation, and/or construction testing and observation BS degree in civil engineering or geology. California registered PE or PG Exceptional attention to detail and writing skills are required for this task. Previous experience in a leadership role Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record and willing to travel within the state of California Physical ability to be in the field, carry equipment, perform testing and sampling for multiple hours or multiple days in a row. $80K -- $100K
